Re: Looking for links or pics of a 2003 race!

Hey Bruce! This is a tuff one. I dont think there was anybody from Utah there. Healeys were in Pasco for the nats that weekend as was Dave Kelley. At That time we didnt know many people from Utah. Just the guys and gals we raced with in Rock Springs. BTW...How is the bmx scene there these days? Noti...

Looking for links or pics of a 2003 race!

Hey all. I bet you dont remember me but this is Rich Hardy. I am looking for pics, links or dates of a Kuna Id. indoor race that Kimberly & I attended in April of 2003. Yah, I know. Waaay old! I want to say it was the first weekend in April of that year. 4th, 5th & 6th. It was just before we...

Good topic B. I don't know what happened Thurs. nite( 'cause I wasn't there.) But I have witnessed in the past the helmet throwing etc. I think we all forget about how important good sportsmanship is at one time or another. I think its up to everyone to set good examples. Especially the older riders...

Hey all! It's been awhile. About the track. Like TP said, attitude is a big part of racing. Did you come to complain or race? A good racer can adapt. It's a matter of who adapts the best! Rich Hardy

IRC sirens for hard tracks. Maxxis Max Daddys or Tioga comp III for local indoor stuff. I'm not a small dude. Jason's right. The sirens don't buckle under me and I sit at about 215#. Run the right tire pressure and you should be set! (My 2c after J.S. 2c!) :) Rich

Cool pics B! You'll laugh at this! When that very pic of Poulson came out, I had just got my first set of graphite tuff wheels to put on my sting! Cool pic of Steve! It's the only time I get to see the front of him! LOL. Love the Old School! Keep it coming, B! :P Rich

You are sooo right Dave. The Utah crowd is great to be around. My wife and I used to live in Mt. and would come down here to race just for all the reasons you spoke of. We liked the scene so well we moved here! Reno is one of the coolest Nationals to attend. They will get a little less intimidating....

The 28 & over x class is usually good. We will have a couple more guys in the class that are turning expert soon. We also get graced with the presence of some of the 20 year old x's as well. We've been known to have dang near full gates on occasion.(20 year olds included) It would be nice to hav...

Good show, Greg. I think you have the right idea. To make this work, I think the number of "mentors" would have to be resonable to the amount of riders invoved. You couldn't spread one person too thin. Let's say no more than five riders to one mentor person. Five would be the ideal size for a "team"...

Del Mar Nationals

Hey! Anybody out there going to Del Mar at the end of Oct? Looks like I might be able to go, but I need to hitch a ride. I'll split cost and driving tasks. I don't need any fancy hotels. Sleeping in a car works. Jason Stout! Still wanna go? Let me know so I can make a plan with ya! Rich Hardy

All of you have some great ideas. Jason G. your idea on the "Mentor" thing might be an important part in new rider retension. I've seen lots of new faces when Dave does his new rider orientation at Rad. (when I do make it out) But I don't see many of those faces return for more races. Also, instead ...

Thats right Greg. You earned it! I admire you sticking with it. A lot of guys quit way before this point! By the way, people who talk a good race but spend most of their time in the stands and quick to critisize but slow to "show" us how it's done are the real moto fillers! Oh yeah, they don't have ...
