I had to go back 10 months to pull this thread back up.

As some of you can see Iv'e really been hitting up the videos lately. I plan on editing quite a few more over the next few months so check back here often. I'll also mix it up with whatever footage I come across from the last 15 years of taping BMX races.

1994, Twin Peaks BMX in Murray. Gold Cup qualifier.
This was my 17 & over open main with Dave Hoffman in 2nd. That last corner of TP was notorious for being super slippery & would get you when you least expected it. I have Steve Spencer crashing in the same spot in his 20" class main.

I've got dozens of crashes in my collection but this is the most brutal one I have & have ever seen in my years at the track.

2002 ABA Grands Pro Open main. Keep an eye on Kyle Bennett in 2nd place going into the pro section.

In order to keep all the vids we have done over the years that are still on this site, I have gone back over all 31 pages & gleened the vids still posted. Some of them are in this thread, others not. Either way these ought to bring back alot of memories. Hopefully they all still work, enjoy!

All you have to do to get Mackdaddys attention is to put a shiny new nickel in front of him & he's on it like Cubans swimming to Miami.

This was at the old Twin Peaks track in Murray in 1993, the year I got back into BMX after 7 years off. I watched one day & raced the next. I placed 2nd in the 17 & over inter class on my old Free Agent. The track closed down after the 95' season.
Here are a few Pro Open moto's with a few names you might just recognize. Yes, Fuzzy was a kick ASS AA Pro before he quit racing for a full-time gig dirt jumping, hopefully sometime in the future we will see him in the Vet Pro class.

The first one is an A-Pro moto with some names you might recognize.

This next one is me in one of my first races back. If you look at the gate behind me in the black shirt, I think that's TP & I'm sure Spence is probebly up there too.

Fri Jul 15, 2005 3:52 pm Post subject: BMX Demo Video

Well, I'm starting work on a BMX demo video that hopefully will play on a TV at the booth during the County Fair. I'd like to get some feedback, so I'll post some clips as they are finished.

Here's a beginning so far, though certain clips will probably change.

Check out this video that Greg found:

This is how I would like to see RC go this year, just like Avon Park, FLA.
Check out the 2nd & 3rd straights, those things rock! Maybe scale back just a ft' or two on the length because Avon is slightly downhill. But I dig the layout & the jumps. Then put the rythem at the last straight.

3rd set. More tomorrow.

Last, but certainly not least is the 4th installment of video clips. I'll tell you what, I have had a BLAST doing this stuff. The Windows Movie Maker is great to work with & I'm getting better at it everytime. I also have to say I couldn't of done this without the help of my wife & Gallo.

This 4th clip had me smiling more than the others. I tried new camera angles in the corners & walked around alot more than I usually do. I now have a new camcorder on the "want but don't need' list.
Thanks to Ron & Jason for allowing me to have free access on the track.
One more thing, somebody in the older novice class needs to move up next race to at least inter......yeah that was me yelling sandbagger!

Anyways enjoy the clip!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry I couldn't get everyone who is behind the scenes at RC indoors making it happen but I tried to get everyone I could plus some random shots as I made my way around the pits Saturday night.

Here's the video of Robby Patterson jumping some 20ft in the air and touching the light @ RAD Canyon's indoor BMX race:

Here's my footage. I think this is actually the jump after he nailed it. This is close enough for me.

http://www.utahbmx.com/bnd/robbielight07.wmv

I took some video of the mains from Friday night, and here are the first few I was able to finish:

First up is the 8x main. Ethan Alvey and Zac Haymond get tangled up in the 2nd corner:

http://www.utahbmx.com/videos/20070223_ ... in.wmv.wmv

Next up is the 14x main. Spencer Prawitt and Cameron Giles do some bumping into the 1st turn, and Spencer gives it one last sprint down the last straight, but runs out of room.

http://www.utahbmx.com/videos/20070223_RCI_14xMain.wmv

And lastly we have the 16x main. The "old guy" of the group Jason Stout shows the young guys the quickest way around the track, and Adam Smith gets squirrely in the rhythm.

http://www.utahbmx.com/videos/20070223_RCI_16xMain.wmv

Chris Olsen losing it in the first turn. he actually stayed on the ground for a few minutes. He hit HARD but got up & rode off.

http://www.utahbmx.com/bnd/07rcindoorsc ... ncrash.wmv

Next is a shot from the racers point of view, courtesy of Rick Eglintine. Great holeshot!

Check out this cool backyard track.

This is a great video of the tracks in England taken a few years ago. What I love about most of these tracks is that there is pedaling & jumps....pedaling & jumps. No rollers thrown in between the obstacles.

Good, fast racing here & alot of Pro's. Dale Holmes is the guy in the Free Agent colors.

http://www.utahbmx.com/bnd/2005-Compilation.wmv

Nothing fancy, 1st clip is first round motos. 2nd clip is 1st round 28+ expert & 2nd round 36-40 cruiser then 36-40 cruiser main.

1996 Golden Spike BMX. Doug Callor breaks his forks. *video*

Well after promising Doug forever that I had footage of this accident & would show him one day, I guess here it is.....barely.

Golden Spike was Steve Spencers track in Ogden(?) at the fairgrounds there. This night Doug showed up & I noticed a few things about him. He was fast, really fast. He was running a Kasten Strut on his bike, not a fork. It had a special hub that bolted onto the end of the 1-legged strut. I knew those had been recalled in the early 90's & it seems to me I mentioned the fact to him but I didn't know the guy so it was in passing. I think he was from Colorado too.

Anyways from the motos I could tell he was probebly the fastest that night & when the gate dropped down for the main, he got the pop & pulled. I just remember him & Steve jumping the big dubs down near the end of the first straight & hearing a loud bang! & a cloud of dust. I was able to miss the carnage & pull a 2nd place (wearing my mtb tights!). As soon as the race was over, Steve ran over to the crash as did I, actually I walked & saw that Doug was really jacked up. They carted him away & that was the last I ever saw of him up until last year when he started racing indoors. I recognized the name & sure enough, it was Doug.
Maybe he can chime in here & give you more details.
