Yo Bruce, here's some oldies for you. I think these taken during the ID state race in 92 or 93. I was 17 or 18 years old racing my arch rival, Steve Spencer on my home track! This was the first race I ever beat Steve. Man we raced each other hard!

Gotta love the mullet flying out the back of the open face helmet, hot pink and purple race wear, BIG number plates, and every one racing in Vans shoes. I'm riding an old Supercross frame with forks you take apart. The trees you see behind Steve and I are now like 50 feet tall. Good stuff!

I'm pretty pumped! I ran into a childhood friend the other day, and he says he still has his GJS and maybe a Kuwahara or two laying around. They are mine for the taking if I want them..........no money he says, just glad he can get rid of them because they are just taking up space.

I am picking them up tomorrow. They should be primo because he was always one to polish his bike after every ride (unlike me).

I'll probably slip him a bill or two, just wouldn't feel right taking them for nothin'.

I'll post pictures when i get them home.

OK, so I know I posted this bike before, but I was playing with photoshop and thought this was pretty cool.

I'm pretty easily amused, though.

Thats cool... Sorry, but I couldn't find anything on clips. I'll keep trying and eventually post something about them.

The Clips question: I got my first clipless pedals in '93 or so and they were pretty new. I am thinking they showed up about '90 or so, but I did not see them on MTB's much until '91 or '92. That was for the SPD pedal. I think road clipless came out first by either Look or Time and this would have been maybe late '80's at the earliest.

Ever wonder why they are called 'clipless pedals'? Prior to clipless cyclists typically rode around with cages over the toes called 'toe clips'. Oh how they sucked. You would never use them in BMX. Even in MTB they were known to get the riders foot caught in them in a crash.
