We should be very proud of our track!!
I have been in Minnesota on business and brought my bike along so I could race a few different tracks. I raced at the Pineview BMX track in St Cloud Minnesota last night. Low turnout only 20 mottos and I was the only rider over 36, so I got to work on chasing 16-24 year olds. Tonight I raced at Rum River BMX in Insanti Minnesota, 23 mottos and again only a handful of adult riders with many of the mottos total points. This is the track where the nationals will be this weekend. But after trying out both track I am really looking forward to getting back to our fast free flowing track layout and fantastic rider counts. You should be very proud of our facilities and know the work Ron and the team does is truly world class. So I just wanted to say thank you to the staff that keeps Rad Canyon and DP up and running!! See you Thursday
Follow the fanny pack to the finish
Interesting. We've been to St Cloud and thought the track was pretty good! Some really great people there running it as well. Don't know about the other tracks in MN.
We always had fun going to other tracks. Beats the hell out of the same old thing over and over and over and over! I bet there's a bunch of people out there that think Rad sucks. For that reason, home track advantage at Rad will be in play for the national.
I'd say every track has its + & -! There is absolutely no doubt that Rad is a great facillity, but there are others as well and more to come!

I went back there last July to visit & race. The older classes were packed. They just had a BIG weekend at Isanti & with the national coming up it doesn't surpise me that the turnouts were low.
I liked riding Pineview but I didn't like racing on it. Waaay too technical & lippy. Other than the first half of the start you don't pedal anywhere & after the first corner it's follow the leader unless your like me & go for a low-high in the 2nd corner & take out the leader.
The T.O. is Alise Posts Dad I believe & the people up there are awesome!

One of these days I would like to see tracks going back to more of an intermediate level with Pro/expert decision makers thrown in for the top 10%. More straight up pedaling wouldn't hurt.
You listening Dan.............

I guess i'll chime in to reply to the last part of the previous post. I'd like to see tracks go back to the way they were before clipless pedals came along. More motocross influence. There's not really any part of RAD that's faster to jump than it is to manual. I know clipless pedals are faster, but I really hate the influence they have on how tracks are laid out these days.

I feel amazed to have a track like Rad. I was in rock springs for about a week last summer and got to experience their outdoor track. They had a whole 3 motos for the whole night and were done racing for the night within a half hour. It was intense. I'm very thankful to have Rad as my home track.
